 What is Yahoo!? Have you ever wondered what exactly Yahoo! is? I used to wonder how the hell David Filo and Jerry Yang came up with such a name, till I read somewhere what it meant.
Yahoo! Is an acronym for Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle-but I promise not to test you on that!
How weird, interesting and pointless is that? haha

Re: What is Yahoo!? the search giant attracts 1.6billion visitors yearly. its headquarters can be found in Sunnyvale, California. And both Yang and Flio were Electrical Engineering students in Stanford.

Re: What is Yahoo!? Actually I thought before that Yahoo! got its name because the founders were so overwhelmed that the first thing they said was Yahoo. Later, I realized I was wrong.

The owners of Yahoo considered buying Google before it went public. However, at the time Yahoo decided that a few billion dollars was too much to pay to buy out their competitor.
