If your keyword occurs only (say) once in a page of one thousand words, it has a lower keyword density than a keyword that occurs (say) four times in a page of similar length.If a particular keyword has a higher density on your web page, then the likelihood of your page obtaining a better search engine ranking increases.

Re: What is meant by keyword density ? Keyword Density means the percentage of times a keyword or key phrase appears on a web page or in any content compared to total number of words on the same. Keyword Density should not be more than 3 to 5% of total words of the content of a webpage or article.

Re: What is meant by keyword density ? Above forum members has define the keyword density very correctly. But my advice is try to have a moderate keyword density so that it can help the search engine to determine that your page is indeed related & relevant to the keyword that you are targeting.
