 Link Checking Tool What I need to do is buy, find, or create a tool that will check a website for a reciprocal link that should be coming to me. I won't always know the exact url of where my link should be located, is there a tool that reliably checks a specific location and if it isn't there spiders out to check the rest of the site? Even just a recommendation for a good checking tool will be useful.

There are certain other tools that would analyze the competitors of your own site. Some are paid / and some are FREE.
Web CEO - you can get a trial version, and try to know links, and other SEO stuffs performed on your competitor sites.
